I've heard flat burr grinders hyped up for the grind consistency and grind quality for a little while now but I never had the means to test one until now. If you compare the burr grind size on this flat burr grinder to the size of those on a conical ginder, the flat burr grinder definitely produces much better grind consistency. To be perfectly honest though, I am not able to tell the difference in flavor profile between the two.I chose to order this because it has a really nice carrying case, seems fairly durable and would be great for taking on camping trips with the scouts. i am super particular about my coffee setup and recently upgraded to this flat burr grinder for my daily espresso pulls. ordered it because of the 64mm flat burrs and the all metal construction and this thing is an absolute unit. it weighs a ton and feels incredibly premium sitting on my coffee bar next to my knock box. the anti static feature actually works surprisingly well, im getting very little retention and the grounds arent flying all over the counter which used to drive me insane with my old grinder. having 100 step settings makes it incredibly easy to dial in the perfect grind size whether im pulling a fine espresso or doing a coarser drip pour over on the weekends. the motor is surprisingly quiet too, it has a nice low hum instead of that screaming high pitched noise most …

At the time of this review, this grinder was about 200, with a coupon making it 150 with free Prime shipping. I would challenge you to find a better grinder at this price point. For context, I have several grinders spanning the range of 20 dollar manual conical burr grinder to several hundred dollar flat grinders and spend a lot of my time and money roasting and enjoying specialty coffee.Build: This is the first grinder I have owned that has a horizontal layout like this.
