I finally bought this when my old paper trimmer broke. I love how the measuring ruler folds in to make it compact for storage. The wire in the middle of the cutting guide allows for EXACT cutting. In the first picture you can see the suede paper in the picture. The trimmer cut that easily as well as the lightweight chipboard underneath. It also cut light/medium weight cardstock and glossy picture paper which you can see in the second picture. I also cut a full page shipping label with no problem.

I just received this and put it through the basic paces, and am very happy with what I see so far. I'll update if there are any significant changes when I put it to more practical use.tl;dr - I was able to cut precisely on a line without specific measurement; I was able to accurately measure a distance from the paper's edge; I was able to cut 6 sheets of paper cleanly; they advertise it for 7 sheets, but the 7th sheet tends to get scored instead of cut.The sheet count is questionable (maybe they somewhere specify a weight of paper for which it cuts 7?) and some specifics of the design could be a little better, but the cutline wire is a very nice addition over others I've used and it seems up to any task you could reasonably ask of a portable paper trimmer.Some more in-depth points: Before

This is my first paper trimmer. I wanted something for light duty, general purpose home use with an inexpensive price tag. Fiskars is a familiar name brand and most of the reviews were positive. I also needed one in a hurry and this was available with Prime shipping, so I went ahead and ordered it. So far, it's done a great job. Simple to use and the wire line guide is really helpful for seeing where the cut will be made. The swing out ruler is also a nice feature. I've used it for trimming documents and also for making greeting cards with 65 lb. stock. The thickest that I've tried cutting so far is four sheets of 24 lb. printer paper and the cut was reasonably clean. Not sure how much thicker it could handle without getting a ragged edge, though. I always had a paper trimmer growing up. It was one of the big heavy guillotine types. Now that I'm in an apartment and don't have an office area, I needed something smaller and portable. I went through a lot of pages worth of trimmers and decided on this one. Not just because I'm familiar with the brand but because it has an easily viewable wire that shows exactly where you'll be cutting. A lot of the other ones didn't have that so you don't know where you will be cutting the paper. I personally will be using this to easily cut my coupons, pictures as well as documents. I make paper crafts for an Etsy shop and this little cutter is essential to my business. Originally I was torn between this style of cutter and the more traditional style with the "arm" blade... and this was definitely the right choice. It's small enough to easily fit on my desk and complete all the tasks I need to accomplish. I will say that if you're looking to cut multiple sheets at once in a high-volume setting, this isn't the cutter for you. It can cut through a sheet of card stock or 3-4 pieces of regular paper pretty easily, but I don't use it for that on a regular basis. This is the best paper trimmer I have ever bought, the price is beyond good and even though it can cut full-size paper, it folds down and can be stored in a drawer. I am not sure how well it will hold up long term, but so far it's good and sharp and cuts very well. It will cut several papers at a time, but I mainly use it for trimming outdoor vinyl to fit in my Cricut Explore. It will cut up to 12” wide and has a slider bar that extends to 14” for even larger sizes. I love that I can just slide it out of the way in a drawer and it takes up so little space. Sometimes I do have trouble seeing the cutting line. I purchased this paper trimmer to help my younger son with a school project. We had a lot of various sized color print-outs that needed to be mounted to a Styrofoam presentation board. Cutting 20#, 8-1/2 x 11" stock, this trimmer performed flawlessly. We didn't have the need to cut multiple sheets at the same time, so I can't offer feedback on that usage, but I think that type of cutting is outside of this tools intended function.The SureCut was very easy to line up the cut lines, have the cutter follow the intended path. Unlike older style paper cutters that have the long blade that's brought down to shear the paper, this cutter tracks the intended line like it's on rails. The older shear style of cutters tend to draw the piece being cut, closer to the cutter. You simply don't have that …
