This is our second Maxa light. The first one lasted over twenty years trouble free. When we painted the house this year, we were not able to remove the light without breaking the attachment apparatus so we decided to replace it. It did such a great job for such a long time that we didn't hesitate getting the same one again. This practical fixture is unobtrusive and the beam is broad and bright. We will buy another one in twenty years.

Love these lights. They just work and look great on the side of our home. Great amount of light and very few false trips from nearby bushes and trees. Good construction, material and durability (original two are two years old). Add in replaceable batteries and you can’t go wrong. I love them so much we now have four.

Ordered one a while back and has been up for few weeks and works great. Solar charging doesn't seem to be a problem, light comes on with good brightness, motion detection works even when small dogs are in the yard - but does not seem to false turn on with tree branches, etc.Installation detail well thought out and easy to install.Am ordering 3 more, as I am well pleased with this purchase.Addendum 2/15/13 - 3 more are up and working great - provides good lighting for security and for seeing where you 're going. This is our second Maxsa solar light. First was purchased at Target for $40.00 and lasted one month longer than 12 month warrantee before becoming spastic. Second unit bought on Amazon has been operating well since purchased on 22 Nov 2010. Note that new unit warrantee is for 3 months and is priced from $40.00 to up to $70.00 by some suppliers. New unit is identical on outside save for paint color and uses same mounting bracket and same fragile plastic locking key. New unit has multiple lamp elements and is much brighter. We've got fingers crossed to see if new one lasts longer than the first unit.

This light worked great along the walkway between my house and garage. It worked so well I added another light nearer the door. Each light illuminates an area of about ten feet in circumference with a bright, cool light. The light turns on quickly with motion but seems to go on fastest if motion is detected from the side (in other words if you approach straight on the light takes a bit longer to turn on, but it is not a major difference). The light closest to the door turns on almost instantly as the door is opened.I think this is an incredible product. It lights the area well, turns on quickly, and is easy to install (it took me about 2 minutes). I also bought a MAXSA Motion-Activated Security Floodlight to light inside my garage and it works great too.

Had 2 of them for more than 6 months. Consistently works, but the 2 LED lights are not bright enough. The worst thing other than being over-priced, is the horrible mounting system. It cannot get mounted very secure, but Chicago winds haven't blown it off my home's exterior walls yet. I have noticed rust on a mounting spring that's inside the light unit. That spring is visible when you look at the back on the light.One of the LEDs on one light has almost stopped working - it blinks. I'm not confident that the lights will perform during the upcoming winter, so I've recently unmounted them and stored them inside. I had to almost tear one light off to get it unmounted - yep, it's the one that has the blinking LED and rusted spring.Look elsewhere. I think I'll try another solar outdoor light …

Now ***I bought 3 of these over a year ago - and they are still working well, even after a Maine winter.So just bought another 2The LEDs give something akin to good moon light - so don't expect 1000 watt flood lighting!For seeing pathways on dark nights, lighting up steps, and perhaps as deer scarcer they work great. They come on as you approach and off about 1 min later.They are designed to be hang on walls.
