Salsa china de tofu Mabo (caliente) - 5.29 oz [Paquete de 3]

Tasty sauce for using with tofu and/or ground meat. I don't find it spicy/hot at all, but it is yummy.

Love this sauce. Very expensive online, but I bought it for a relative out of state, and will never do it again. It can be found in a Chinese or Japanese market for much less.

To me this does not taste authentic. It has a fine flavor but compared to what Ive had at Chinese restaurants it doesn't taste much like it. Has a little bit of spicy but not really spicy ( I like spicy food and have a higher spice tolerance). I tried it with just tofu and have also had it with vegan meat, either way was fine and didn't make much difference in how much I like it. Would I buy it again...probably not just because of how much I enjoy it from a restaurant that has more of the authentic flavor I'm used to, and much rather spend money on it that way as it's pricy on here. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a quick meal and not looking for something with an authentic flavor, as it still tastes fine as its own sauce.

I've been lucky to have some authentic Schizuan cusine and Mabo/mapto tofu is one of my all time favourites. This ready to cook meal is pretty good. The flavors are almost there. I would say 70% good. Still needs some refinement. I added some schizuan pepper corns to it as it was not spicy enough for me but the other parts of the recipe needs to be balanced as well. Overall this is a good buy if you are in a pinch or if you do not have an authentic schizuan restaurant nearby.

Its a great sauce for making mapo tofu at home. I really like spicy food and found it a little bland, so I added some Sichuan peppercorns and peppers while cooking and it turned out fantastic.

This is a great thing to have in your pantry for a quick and easy dinner. Husband loves it. Also its good if you have a vegetarian coming to dinner ~ just make it without the meat.

The flavor is great, but it's not really spicy at all.

I am a huge fan of mabo tofu, but find it a pain to make from scratch. This sauce has a great flavor and is quick and easy to make. I substitute shiitake mushrooms for the pork most of the time and it is delicious! I like spicy food and don't find this to be overly spicy.
