I have used many tripods, professional and otherwise that range the quality spectrum. I am quite pleased with this setup since the legs are easy to set up and retract. The setup is really for a stationary setup. It is not one that is designed to be used to facilitate panning while shooting a video, nor any other type of movement. It is also designed for a lightweight device to be mounted - especially on the gooseneck.The legs are also stable and provide a decent foundation for holding the phone or other light device. The clamps that hold the vertical supports keep the phone in place and do not easily slide down - they are quite capable. The goose neck also adds several inches of height, and it's firm and stiff - you need 2 hands to bend it and position it properly, which I like - because it doesn't droop as much when I attach my phone. It's super simple to assemble, and you can position the phone grip two ways depending on your need. It has a 360 degree swivel, firm adjuster levers, and comes with a hand drawstring pouch for storage and travel. The included remote is really small, and might be easy to misplace, but it does have a silicone loop on it to attach it to something. This is a very sturdy well built stand. The legs and telescoping poles are made of metal with plastic latches. This sturdiness comes at a cost of extra weight and larger size than some of the smaller compact stands. But unlike smaller plastic stands this has no sway when fully extended.Instead of a ball head the stand comes with a flexible wire encased in plastic. This tripod is lightweight on my scale; it weighed in at 1 lb 10 oz. It says in the listing that it will support 6.6 pounds. As with any tall tripod such as this, I would add a weight such as a sandbag to the base before pushing it to the max.
